To everyone saying “I would’ve slapped Chris Rock too!” This is for you…

First off, you’re a hypocrite.

If this is what “defending your wife" looks like to modern day society, then this nation truly is headed in a bad direction.

To anybody who doesn’t know the context, stop what you’re doing and go to Youtube now and look up “Will Smith punches Chris Rock"… and also do me a favor and get out from under that rock sometimes, I mean come on this is epic Hollywood ridiculousness here.

It’s not like I’m shocked or appalled to the point where I’d never watch his movies or listen to his music again... but still, Will Smith was out of line for that. I dont care how mad the joke made Jada or how tired he is of the recent scrutiny into his marriage and personal life (which is halfway because of Jada in the first place), I get it but it’s still not a good look. All he had to do was approach him backstage if he was that upset about the joke. Maybe even just the yelling would’ve been understandable.

This entire debacle was unacceptable in every way, there is no convincing me otherwise. Not only did this man assault a legendary comedian, but he went on to win an award and went up there and apologized to the Academy and didn’t utter a word of an apology to Chris Rock. The Academy owes Chris Rock an apology for not escorting him out the moment he assaulted him. To add insult to injury they still let Will Smith go up and give an acceptance speech and go to the after-party, the disrespect. So Will goes to the after-party with his family and they are all smiling and he’s holding up the Oscar, all as if nothing inappropriate happened. Yeah, I have to admit, I kind of lost a little respect for the whole family after this. The sad part about it is, I never judged any of them once during all of their recent drama or controversial antics in the media. But not taking accountability for something that is obviously unacceptable is a deal-breaker for me. Even if I was a part of the family I would not have wanted to celebrate in that moment of shame (which it was) but that’s just me.

Now let’s talk about Chris Rock for a second. This man was doing what he was hired to do, let’s be honest making fun of the crowd is something Chris Rock is known and praised for. If they didn’t want…
